May 17. The first interactive lesson with interesting master classes from both sides.
As part of the cooperation and partnership relations of the UNESCO associated schools between Kyiv Middle School of Oriental Languages No. 1 and Shinjeong Girls’ Middle School (Seoul, Republic of Korea), on May 17, our Korean friends – students and teachers – held for high school students studying Korean in our educational institutions, an interesting workshop online. By the way, a few days before the mentioned event, a package from a Korean school arrived at the gymnasium with all the necessary, carefully selected materials for such an activity. Such attention of Korean partners to our students and teachers could not help but move.
The workshop was extremely rich and contributed to the development of the students’ language skills in the knowledge of Korean, the establishment of closer communication between students and teachers of both partner schools. Our students learned first-hand about the celebration of Children’s Day in Korea, learned to compose “ttakji”. The second block of the lesson was an introduction to the peculiarities of the celebration of Father’s Day, as a reflection on what was seen and heard, the children were given the homework to make a paper bouquet for their parents. The third block of the workshop lesson was the making of a key ring in the form of a square – “mabanjin”. Also, during the lesson, there was constant communication in Korean between students and teachers, exchange of smiles and positive emotions from the online meeting.
Our Korean friends did not forget to give treats for the high school students – traditional sweets “yakja”, and also a bright accessory for a mobile phone (these cute gifts were also carefully placed in the package we received from the Korean school).
